Drawing of a part of the community.

My parents are devote catholics, but not fundamentalists, which is handy for this post since that's the most common religious group on Earth. They believe that "work is health" and that one must "win his bread with his own sweat" and they might claim that money isn't happiness, but not wholeheartedly. I bet they're a bit confused about the part where Jesus says it's almost impossible for a rich man to get into paradise.

Hi everyone!

Odessa 789 - Hitchiking off the beaten tracks

This travel story is about events that actually happened to the author in August 2009. Due to his being busy with more important stuff, it is still not completed.

It is still thick enough to be a comprehensive read. The part that is already written is in a pretty finished state.

Money, sex, and the lack thereof

This is a couple-of-chapters story on the consequences of weird economical and moral precepts taken to some extreme. Story happens in Mexico.

A couple of facts first.

Mexico is 110 million people living on something like 4 Frances or 6 Germanies or half the EU. It's HDI (human development index) places it between the Bahamas and Costa Rica, or between Latvia and Bulgaria if we stick to European countries. Way above Russia, Brazil or Turkey, if you're more familiar with those.

Debate on the debate on the debate on nanotechnology

Evil nano robots

This paper is not about nanotechnology. It will not present a debate on the subject of nanotechnology. It will not argue on the relevancy of such a debate. Those points have been already discussed sufficiently to be considered thoroughly covered. But I don't see much of a debate on the debate on the debate on nanotechnology. You thought the title was a joke? It's not.

An alien perspective on music festivals in general - Woodstock 2009

I'm not a big fan of music festivals. Somehow, the concept doesn't compute well with me. But sometimes, if it's free and I have nothing better to do, I go have a look.

That time, I went because it was on the right place at the right time. I was on my way from Hamburg to Odessa, and on the very day I was supposed to cross the Polish border, there was a festival featuring one band that I sort-of like. In addition to that, my ex-roommate was going to be there and we see each other once a year only. So I went.
